11/30/23. 4 L-turns

Image
11/30/23. Laid from 8:45-9:00 am, Ran it at 9:15.  Temp- 42 degrees, steady wind, sunny, grass dry and short.   S5W10F5 Track 1- Rough start, sloppy first leg, made the turn well, steady on 2nd leg, good down at article.  Track 2- good start, stayed on track, question mark turn, stayed close to 2nd leg, good down at article. Track 3 - good start, went to hell in a hand basket at the 1st turn, surfing widely over second leg, shot past next turn and he was all over the place until he came to the article and downed.   Maybe I laid it too close to trees? I am in a lot of pain and he might have been having a bad day as well? 50% was really good and 50% was really rough

11/26/23.   Orchard to Bart’s field, 38 degrees, misty rain, 8:20 am, S5W5F3, 2 Open turns Leg 1 - 53 yds - good start, stayed on track, went 5 yards past open right turn and came back to track on leg 2 Leg 2 - 80 yds - stayed on track, went 5-10 yds past open left turn, came back to track on leg 3, lots of deer poop here Leg 3 - 60 yds - stayed on track for 28 yds then left track going side to side while I stood still - lots of deer poop here too, he finally came back to track and stayed on it to the article, good down at article. He tracks better when grass is damp or wet!

11/25/23 2 start tracks with right turns

Image
11/25/23    Bart’s Field, 8:30 am, 37 degrees, short dry grass, windy, sunny S5W5WF3 Could see the wind effect on him because he went much farther past the turns and was tracking off the side on the legs that were perpendicular to the wind. Stayed right on the tracks when going downwind.

11/24/23 Two turn track

Image
11/24/23 Front field, tall dry grass, (my back is out and I took a flexeril so no idea what my food drop ratio really was but I was trying for S5W5F5). Maybe 11:30 and maybe 55 degrees.  First leg and start were good, he went past the turn and came back, 2nd leg was good, he passed the turn and circled back to me, 3 rd leg was going well until he saw a paper plate that had blown up against the fence. He left the track and ran to investigate (I dropped the leash because my back is hurt). After sniffing the plate, he went into hunt mode and cast back and forth until he found the article and downed.

Track 1 - good start, 1st leg stayed on track, nailed the first turn, 2 nd leg had some wobbles and a question mark turn, 3(rd leg was on track, good article indication https://youtu.be/eLW0w9fXYaI?feature=shared Track 2 - good start, 1st leg was on track, cut the turn a smidge, 2nd leg got wobbly, went past turn but circled back in a wobbly question mark, 3rd leg was a train wreck, good article indication. https://youtu.be/-Ndrhe1KVTQ?feature=shared

11/5/23 Bart’s field, 53 degrees, 8:30 am, sunny, dry, S5W10F5, short leash https://youtu.be/rjx3IxqEwkU?feature=shared After watching the video, I see that I should have gone with him immediately on the first turn. I was not oriented on my landmarks correctly.  He had a good start, stayed on track, one turn that I messed up, then 3 pretty good turns, great article indication. I am concerned when he looks up and sees the next flag and charges to it.
