1/19/25. Short tracks around fences and woods
1/19/25. Laid these short tracks one at a time, ran him within 5 minutes and put him in the car to marinate while I laid the next one. Food drops varied between 10-15 steps apart. He got better with each track. Track #1. Struggled at the turn into tall cover https://youtu.be/imxw4lYuoHA?feature=shared Track #2 short track from tall cover to short towards fence https://youtu.be/bA4Q4ZZpGu4?feature=shared Track #3 Between 2 fences towards woods https://youtu.be/R9EverPLGJ8?feature=shared Track #4 Parallel woods and turn away https://youtu.be/88B4jnpOJYc?feature=shared

WHAT A GORGEOUS START!!! Ok, there is an element of what appears to be visual here, although my interpretation is that he’s seeing the article not the flag. Regardless, we’ve come too far to make a wrong turn now. 1. Lay your flags down. If he indicates them, he is correct. 2. Go to Home Goods/Target and purchase dark green and medium green washcloths. Cut them in half or quarters (unless Dewey will swallow them—if so, leave them whole. Place them 2 yards past the laying down flag. And, remember, he may be scenting the article and then looking for it, which is good. At some time in the future we will train him to ignore things that aren’t the track scent….but we aren’t there yet. Now going to go watch next video.
