3/15/24 Obstacles at PSP

 3/15/24. PSP, 8:30 am, sunny, 60 degrees, not much wind, dirt with short sparse grass, heavily augmented with feet dragging and food, aged about 5-10 minutes 

Goal: Obstacles

Track 1: Through a mud creek and over a gravel bridge - I augmented the track with foot dragging and food every 20 steps due to the dirt surface. I wanted him to be confident of the track as he crossed the obstacles. Track 2: Straight track across rock filled creek, a small concrete pad and a gravel road. I augmented the track with foot dragging and food every 20-30 steps. https://youtu.be/hxrfFhvCwE0?feature=shared

His starts were good, he tracked well but was slightly downwind about 2-3 feet in some sections.

Loved the head turn at the corner and he had an obvious loss of scent with a head lift and body turn after he passed by the corner then he circled back and made the turn.

He went straight across each obstacle with no confusion - I was surprised!

I think I should have stopped instead of slowed down?? 60 degrees, gusts up to 29 mph, 46% humidity     Laid at 9:25, ran at 10:40ish Good start, good articles, stayed with track The random gloves that were 5 yds past the end of the hangman drew him forward and then he is used to continuing on straight after finding an article, so he went straight on. Andrea stopped us and then we did the back up routine until he found the leg. I was happy with our overall performance.
