12/28/23. Starts
12/28/23 Starts. - 51 degrees - wet field with some standing water - I was interrupted and tracks got older than I intended. S5W10F5. He misses 50% of hot dogs. At starts - scuff 5, food, w5, food, w5, then S5W10F5. Turns are S5 (before and after) with food at S5 after the turn, then resume W10F5. Track 1 - 42 min old - a little confused at start, found the hot dog and figured it out, I had to keep a short lead to keep him on the track, he wanted to go downwind. Question mark turn. He did better on the downwind 2nd leg, slight surfing, so I kept the lead short. Good down at article. Track 2 - 52 min old - better start - stayed closer to track until we went through standing water, I think he didn’t want to get his legs wet! Good open turn - stayed right on track for 2nd leg and good down at article. Track 3 - 65 min old - good start - lots of surfing - had to keep leash short - good turn - 2nd leg still had surfing - good down at article.

12/22/23. 6 articles- 95 yards - sunny, breezy, 50 degrees - dry grass and oak leaves Good start - down at each article - stayed on the track!
12/20/23. S track. and 2 turn track with scent pads
12/20/23 Trying to keep his nose on the track and stop surfing! Track 1 - S track with flags every 5 yards - S5W10F5 - about 75 yard track - aged about 1 hour https://youtu.be/q2Emn_8QXpM?feature=shared I stopped when he left the track. He did pretty well though. Track 2 - 2 turn track with scent pads - 1st leg was - S5- SP - S5- SP-W5-SP- W5F- SP- W10F5 After turn S5- SP- W5 -SP- S5W10F5 - age 75 minutes https://youtu.be/0exd7h7uZuQ?feature=shared Good start, good first turn , confusion on leg 2, overshot turn 2, got better on leg 3 once he got back on track. Good down at article. These tracks were aged much longer than he was used to.
12/17/23 Long straight 4 article track
12/17/23. 9:00am, 46 degrees, cloudy, damp air before the rain 168 yds, S5W10F5, 4 articles Start- dogs walked by start flag and deposited fresh poop beside it, they were walking back by as we tried to start. Rough start. My goal was to stop when I saw his spine curve. He wanted to track downwind of the footsteps so I kept stopping. Not a very smooth tracking session. Lots of stopping and him looking at me like “what’s your problem?” Good downs at each article and really good restarts after each article.

12/14/23 3 turn track
12/14/23 8:20am, 34 degrees, sunny, frosted grass, S5W10F5 Leg 1- 38 yds, good start, some surfing back and forth across the track, nice question mark turn Leg 2 - 44 yds, stayed on track well, overshot turn and tried to go right, he circled behind me and got back to leg 3 by smelling the hot dog. Leg 3 - 125 yds some surfing, especially going past the shed, good turn Leg 4 - 50 yds - slight surfing but pulling hard and going steadily down the track, this leg was in the shade and grass was frozen, he got every hot dog, Great down at article.

12/9/23 3 tracks with 1 turn each
12/9/23. 67 degrees, strong gusty wind out of the west, partly sunny, dry grass, 12:50-12:56pm Track 1 - 16 min old, S5W10F5, 1st leg - 60 yd, left turn, 2nd leg - 15 yds. Good start, he stayed slightly downwind of the track (about 2 feet off) and tracked straight (no surfing) , question mark turn, tracked straight to article, good down. Track 2 - 18 min old, S5W10F5, 1st leg- 45 yds, right turn, 2nd leg-10 yds. Good start, stayed closer to track and tracked straight to turn, question mark turn, then he saw the article and ran for it, good down at article. Track 3 - 20 min old, S5W10F5, 1st leg - 78 yds, left turn, 2nd leg-15 yds. Good start, tracked about 1 1/2 foot downwind of the track, tracked straight to turn, question mark turn, straight to article, good down at article.
12/6/23 80 yd straight aged 20 min
12/6/23. https://youtu.be/dvBAyN-b_KE?feature=shared 80 yd, straight track, aged 20 minutes, 39 degrees, wet grass, cloudy and misty, S5W10F5, gusting wind out of NW Good start, stayed on track until he hit the odor from the glove (a little bob left and then right) and then down at glove. I thought he did great 😊

12/5/23. 4:15pm, 50 degrees, cloudy, no wind, dry grass, S5W10F5 Track 1 - 50 yd straight, S5W10F5, good start, little surfing but stayed close to track, good down at article Track 2 -32 yds to open right turn and 40 yds to cross the gravel driveway, good start, stayed right on track first leg, really good turn, surfed a little on second leg, the driveway blew his mind, good down at article.
12/3/23 Two turns with a long straight leg
12/3/23. https://youtu.be/l1wpXChbdgM?feature=shared 65 degrees, cloudy, wind gusts, wet grass, S5W10F5 Good start, very lost at first turn, 2nd leg he was off to woods side of track about two feet. 2nd turn was question mark style, but good. Last leg was long and he was blowing off to the left with the wind 💨. I tried to hold him closer to track, but not well enough. Good down at article. I think he is air scenting more than tracking?? Should I go back to short tracks with more food?
