12/8/25 Article Track under snow

12/8/25. Laid an article track at 8:30 am before the snow started. Ran it at 12:30 after 2 inches of snow fell. He found all of the articles except for 1 metal canning lid ! I will have to find it after the snow  melts. Pretty cool!

12/3/25. Dorey Park Tracks to practice sand again

12/3/25. First track was in the sand because we thought he struggled with the sand in class but I now think that what he was actually struggling with were cross tracks made by whoever took both of Mary Ann ’s articles. 1. One turn track in sand - 50 minutes age - freaking cold out - there were a several people walking and loose dogs and I did not have any spray so I was a bit freaked out and did not do much aging on the tracks and I used my 10’ line to stay closer to him. 1st leg had scent pads at 10 and 20 was only 50 yards long. 2nd leg had scent pads at 10 and 30 and was 70 yards long. He had no problem with the sand.  https://youtu.be/hKijqEoDD9I?feature=shared 2. One turn track in grass - this was supposed to be an easy track to do after the hard sand track but instead the sand was easy and this one was hard! Two people and a dog crossed the track about 30 minutes after I laid it and then they sat at a picnic table right beside it. We ran the track at 40 minutes age....

11/30/25. Track Reacquisition Exercise with 3.5 hours age. https://youtu.be/ealJUEc9GlU?feature=shared

11/30/25. Working on: track reacquisition exercise with 3.5 hr age. Used bandanas because he doesn’t think they are articles. Water at article to get me in the habit. 2 Scent pads at start and 1 on second leg. Used a 6’ leash to keep him tighter on the track and turn.  His turn was great! His start was pretty good. He did acknowledge that bandanas are articles. He had trouble with the reacquisition part. I don’t know why he tracks along well and then randomly goes right and left and because I am stopping him he goes back to the track and obviously knows that’s the way it goes. Why does he do these detours? Does he need a scent break? I need to figure out when it’s a detour and when it’s a turn on blind tracks.    https://youtu.be/ealJUEc9GlU?feature=

11/21/25. Turns     https://youtu.be/aGfG6RqzZ5Q?feature=shared Laid 7:45.     Ran: 9:50   I set out to run the track as MAM instructed in my last blog, however, I left his water bottle sitting on the kitchen counter. I was headed to the airport to pick up my daughter and did not have time to go back and get it. I did put food after every article and after every turn. There are a lot of flags because I needed to make it easier on myself. Start was rough, road crossing was rough, Tracking was good, Turns were better than last time, Articles were good EXCEPT for the bandana (he has ignored bandanas before).
